ANNOUNCES NURTURE LIVE AUSTRALIA TOUR FOR NOVEMBER+ PLAYING THIS THAT FESTIVAL

Acclaimed vocalist, songwriter and producer Porter Robinson has announced details of his first Australian tour in over 6 years. The tour celebrates his critically acclaimed album Nurture, and will take place in November, with stops in Sydney and Melbourne – see full dates below. The Nurture Live show features Porter singing and playing the piano and an array of digital instruments, accompanied by a stunning, carefully crafted visual production.

Performing at Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena on 6 November and Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on 10 November, the shows will step into a world where music becomes an ethereal experience.

Porter Robinson first emerged in 2010, exploding onto the dance scene with frenetic, fist-pumping productions meant for electro-house basement raves. Four years later came his debut album, Worlds, which established him as one of the most restlessly creative new names in electronic pop – a visionary crafter of “gorgeous textures, contemplative storytelling and remarkably sharp melodies,” to quote the New York Times. Robinson’s success didn’t stop there: in 2016, he released the RIAA Gold-certified single single ‘Shelter’ with Madeon, backed by an anime video created in collaboration with A-1 Pictures and Crunchyroll that’s since amassed over 74m views. A Shelter Live Tour spanning 43 dates and five continents followed before, in October 2017, a new chapter of Robinson’s career began: ‘Eon Break’, his first single under the alias Virtual Self, signaled a growing interest in interdisciplinary art and Y2K trance. The project was another hit, earning the producer his first ever Grammy nomination. In 2021, Porter Robinson released his much anticipated sophomore album Nurture to universal acclaim, breaking the top 10 Billboard Albums Chart and top 5 on iTunes, and winning rave reviews from NME, Billboard and Pitchfork, who heralded it as the work of an artist “[emerging] from the fog with the realization that struggle gives life its color.”

In 2019, Porter put on the first Second Sky Festival, which sold out all 30,000 tickets for the two-day festival in a single day. In both 2020 and 2021, Porter Robinson hosted editions of his virtual festival Secret Sky, amassing over 6 million viewers combined, and which came to be regarded as the most sophisticated virtual festivals of their time. Later in 2021, following the release of Nurture, Second Sky Festival made its return to the Bay Area, selling out 40,000 tickets in a single day. Immediately following, the Nurture Live North American Tour sold over 150,000 concert tickets and was the highest grossing electronic tour of 2021. In the following two years Porter continued The Nurture Live Tour with two sold out installations across Europe and Asia, and had his final US performance of Nurture Live with a special full band performance on the main stage of Coachella in 2023.
